Last updated: 2026-02-18
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of:
- Volteec iOS App (“App”)
- Volteec Backend (“Backend”) – self-hosted software you operate
- Volteec Push Relay (“Relay”) – the hosted push relay service
- Volteec Website (“Website”) – pages, contact, and related site services

1) Acceptance
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2) Services overview
The App provides UPS monitoring and notifications. The Backend is self-hosted software. You control its deployment, configuration, and data. The Relay delivers push notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs), supports secure pairing, and monitors Backend availability through periodic heartbeat checks. Based on heartbeat activity, the Relay may automatically generate server status notifications (for example, “server up” or “server down” events). The Website provides product information, onboarding instructions, and contact options.
3) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age required by your local law).
4) Accounts and credentials
You are responsible for keeping your Backend credentials, tokens, and server access secure.
Relay pairing may issue identifiers and session tokens required to register for push notifications.
5) Acceptable use
You agree not to abuse or overload the Services, attempt to access systems or data you do not own or control, or use the Services to violate laws or third-party rights.
You agree not to misuse the Website (for example, by attempting to disrupt it, probe it for vulnerabilities, or submit malicious content).
The Services enforce rate limits to ensure fair usage. Exceeding these limits may result in temporary restrictions on your access.
6) Service availability
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.
7) Third-party services
The Services integrate with Apple Push Notification Service (APNs). Your use of APNs is subject to Apple’s terms and policies.
The Backend may connect to Network UPS Tools (NUT) servers to retrieve UPS data. Your use of NUT is subject to its own license and configuration.
The Website may rely on third-party infrastructure providers (for example, hosting and security providers) to deliver and protect the Website.
8) Open source
The Backend and shared libraries may be open source under their respective licenses. Your use must comply with those licenses.
The App may include open-source components subject to their respective licenses. A list of third-party licenses may be available within the App or its documentation.
9) Intellectual property
The Services and related materials are owned by Volteec or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Services for personal or internal purposes.
10) Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled. By using the Services, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
11) Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Services. You may stop using the Services at any time.
You may unpair your devices at any time through the App. Upon unpairing, your installation data and associated device tokens are deleted from the Relay. You may also unregister your devices from your Backend (self-hosted), which deletes your device registration from that Backend.
12) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volteec is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data or profits.
Volteec does not guarantee the timely delivery of push notifications. Notification delivery depends on third-party services (such as Apple Push Notification Service) and network conditions beyond our control.
13) Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes.
14) Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Volteec is established, without regard to conflict of laws rules.
